Hays Junior Eagles snap 3-game skid with sweep of Dodge City

The Hays Eagles Junior American Legion baseball team used a four-run first inning to carry them to an 8-4 win in game one of their doubleheader with Dodge City Monday night. They scored four in the second and seven in the third and win the second game 13-4.

The Eagles scored in the first in game one on an RBI single by Trey Van Pelt, a two-run single by Alex Fisher and an RBI single by Tate Garcia.

Cole Murphy allowed four unearned run on seven hits in the complete game victory.

Jace Armstrong had three hits in the second contest including a three-run triple in the third inning of game two. Trey Van Pelt hit a bases loaded double and Jake Dechant an RBI double in the fourth.

The Eagles snap a three-game losing streak with the sweep and improve to 7-9.
