
SALINA – Law enforcement officers in Saline County made three drug arrests on Monday after traffic stops for speeding on Interstate 70.
Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said at 6:00p.m., a deputy clocked a westbound Toyota Camry going 96 mph westbound near the Interstate 135 interchange.
A deputy approached the car and found a strong smell of marijuana.
During a search of the car the deputy found a baggie of what is believed to be marijuana in the console.

Just after 11:00p.m. on Monday night according to Kochanowski, another deputy stopped an eastbound Ford Focus speeding at 87 mph just after the Hedville exit.
The deputy noticed a strong smell of marijuana. During a search of the car, several packages of marijuana were recovered.
Deputies arrested James Wheatley, 32, and Damaris Griffin, 20, both of Seymour, TN., on requested charges of possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and no tax stamp.
Wheatley was also charged with speeding and driving on a suspended license.
