HUTCHINSON – Employees of the Hutchinson Correctional Facility were by an inmate injured just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Kansas Department of Corrections reported in a media release that an inmate battered a corrections officer and two medical staff members at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility Central Unit Clinic (HCF-CU).

The three staff members were taken by facility staff to the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment and were released.

The inmate was taken into custody and placed in the Administrative Segregation unit pending investigation.

The incident remains under investigation.
