MAINTENANCE WORKER (STREETS)

The City of Hays is looking for a Service Division Maintenance Worker. This position is responsible for street maintenance including: concrete and asphalt maintenance and repair, street and alley maintenance, and snow removal. This position would also perform construction duties, operate trucks, mowers, and hand tools.

 

Normal schedule for this position is Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. during the summer and 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. the rest of the year. This position may be required to work a flexible work schedule as needed.

 

Requirements

Valid Kansas driver’s license required. The ideal candidate would have the ability to operate a wide variety of equipment, having working knowledge of concrete and/or asphalt maintenance, and the ability to read & interpret written instructions, maps, and service manuals. Strong construction and mechanical skills required. This position requires a CDL Class B within 6 months of employment.
