Kan. man arrested after attempted kidnapping at Walmart

SALINA – Police in Salina made an arrest in connection with an attempted kidnapping early Friday.

Salina police reported officers were sent to Walmart, 2900 S. 9th, just after 4:30 a.m.

A 42-year-old woman told authorities she was shopping in the store, when an unknown man at knifepoint accosted her.

The man attempted to lead her into a restroom.

She pulled away from him and screamed and said the man then punched her on the side of the face and attempted to the leave the store.

A store manager then confronted him and the man threatened the manager with the knife. He was seen leaving the area in a white Ford Crown Victoria.

An officer located a vehicle matching that description in the 1300 block of Crescent Drive and The officers found the man in a residence in that area.

The man, identified as Jerrid Logan, 31, Delphos, was taken into custody just after 9:30 a.m.

At the time of his arrest, he was said to be in possession of personal use methamphetamine according to police.

Logan was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, Battery and Possession of Methamphetamine.
