Kansas man hospitalized after semi crash, fire

RENO COUNTY – A Kansas man was injured in an accident just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday in Reno County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Western Star semi driven by Bobby G. Ring, 49, Belle Plain, was northbound on Kansas 2 near the Kingman County line. The semi went left of center and struck a southbound 1991 Toyota pickup driven by David Neil Summers, 46, Attica.

Both vehicles went into the east ditch and the pickup caught fire.

Summers was transported to Wesley Medical Center. Ring was not injured.

The KHP reported Summers was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
