Despite some early setbacks construction continues to move forward on the Ellis County Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center.
After the Ellis County Commission approved an order giving the contractor – Kansas City-based MW Builders – an extra 48 days to complete the project construction is set to be completed in December.
Construction on the $7.169 million project was initially slated for completion in October or November of this year.
Ellis County Sheriff Ed Harbin said its starting too take shape and, “It’s starting too look like a jail.”
