SALINA – Law enforcement authorities in Saline County made a drug arrest after conducting a welfare check on a vehicle parked on Interstate 70 on Tuesday.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said deputies checked on a car eastbound just east of the Brookville exit around 5:30 p.m.

Officers found James Clark Jr., 35, Wichita, a 7-year-old boy, and 4-month-old baby boy in the car.

Clark told officers he had gotten into an argument with Teaa Ardry, 25, also of Wichita, as they were traveling home from a trip to Colorado.

Clark explained Ardry and her 4-year-old daughter, got out of the car and hitched a ride to the Ellsworth exit.

Deputies brought the woman and girl back to the car and during a search, found small amounts of products containing marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia, and an open container of alcohol.

Ardry was also in possession of a prescription drug and did not have a prescription.

Ardry and Clark were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and three counts of endangering a child.

Clark was also charged with driving with a suspended drivers license and Ardry for possession of a prescription drug without a prescription.

The children were placed into the custody of family members.
