The Larks, who were the visitors in the first game, loaded with bases with no outs in the top of the first but failed to score. Liberal’s first eight batters reached safely in the bottom of the inning with the first six scoring to give them the lead for good.

Starter Aaron Fletcher failed to record an out and took the loss, allowing six runs on four hits.

The Larks scored single runs in each of the first three innings in the second contest to go up 3-1. Liberal used a single and two walks to load the bases in the fifth and eventually scored four to grab 5-3 lead. The Larks would score a run in the bottom of the inning to pull within a run but Bee Jay center fielder Jaylen Hubbard robbed Garrett McKenzie of a game-tying RBI with a diving catch in center to end the inning.

The Larks and Bee Jays close out league play Sunday night.
