GOVE – A Kansas woman died in an accident just before 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Gove County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Jeep Liberty driven by Claudia V. Vega, 39, Dodge City, was northbound on Kansas 23 one mile north of Gove.

The vehicle went right off the roadway and the driver overcorrected.

The vehicle came back onto the roadway and went into a skid.
The driver lost control of the vehicle. It went back into the ditch and rolled.

Vega was transported to Gove County Medical Center where she died.

She was properly restrained at the time of the accident according to the KHP.
