3 from NW Kan. hospitalized after SUV hits deer, rolls in Gove Co.

PARK — Three people were injured in an accident just after 6 a.m. on Wednesday in Gove County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Ford Expedition driven by Anthony M Derlunas III, 33, Palco, was eastbound on Interstate 70 a mile south of Park when it hit a deer.

The driver lost control of the SUV after a blow out of the left front tire.

The vehicle entered the north ditch sideways and rolled.

Derlunas and passengers Gary D. Fabila, 32, Hill City, and Joseph L. Vallery, 37, Palco, were transported to Gove County Medical Center.

All were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
