Kan. National Guard investigating helicopter accident

MCPHERSON – A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from the Kansas National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 108th Aviation was involved in a non-injury training accident at the McPherson airport Tuesday night, according to the Kansas Adjutant General’s office.

According to Maj. Joshua Urban, battalion administrative officer, the helicopter, carrying a crew of four, made a hard landing at approximately 11:54 p.m. during a standard night-training exercise on the runway of the McPherson airport.

There were no injuries, but the helicopter sustained damage that made it unable to fly.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
