LEAWOOD- A Kansas man working in a construction zone was injured in an accident just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Johnson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Chevy Commercial truck driven by Glen R. Kernes, 29, Overland Park, was westbound on I-435 at State Line in Leawood.

The vehicle lost part of its load of lumber from a dismantled deck. It struck Terry W. Still, 53, Kansas City, who was working in the construction zone.

Still was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the truck was not injured and properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
