The Community Assistance Center of Ellis County will hold a special back-to-school garage sale from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 12th and Oak.

The CAC typically holds garage sales on the first and third Tuesday of the month. This special sale will provide an opportunity for families to pick up some nice clothes before school starts at good prices, according to said Laurie Mortinger, CAC co-director.

“We have a great response to our regular garage sales,” she said. “We are hoping new shoppers as well as our regulars will check out our great assortment of items.”

The CAC uses funds generated by the garage sale to provide food to those in need in Ellis County. Since its inception in 1983, all donations to the CAC have been used toward helping those who reside in Ellis County.

If you have items to donate for the garage sale, the center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.
