A Fort Hays State University graduate and city manager of Nome, Alaska, has been named to a statewide position.

According to Alaska Public Media, Josephine Bahnke, who earned her undergraduate degree in political science from FHSU, has been named director of the state’s Division of Elections. She has served as Nome city manager since 2008.
