SALINA – A traffic stop just before 6 a.m. Tuesday morning led authorities to the arrest of a man in a stolen pickup.
Salina County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said a deputy stopped the truck in the area of Kansas 140 and Niles Road after the driver of the pickup was having trouble maintaining a lane and drove off the road into a ditch.
The officer determined the pickup was stolen from the fenced area at I-70 and Niles Road sometime between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Royer Brothers Tree Service of Sterling Kansas own the truck.
It was towing a trailer and had a lawn mower and metal flowers in vases, and a hot air balloon frame.
Jason M. Wheeler, 38, Salina was arrested on requested charges of vehicle burglary, felony theft, criminal damage to property, and trespassing.
Kochanowski said more charges are possible.
