CASA of the High Plains gets ‘socked’ with donations

CASA of the High Plains Inc. recently received 60 pairs of children’s socks from Bombas, a sock company with a philanthropic mission. These socks will be given to children in the community who are in need.

“When children are removed from their homes, they often lose their clothes, especially socks. So, this was a great opportunity for us to get an item that kids actually need,” said Valerie Ramage, CASA advocate coordinator.

Bombas discovered that socks are the No. 1 most requested clothing item in homeless shelters, so for every pair of socks that are purchased, they donate a pair. To date, the company has donated over 400,000 pairs of socks to charity partners nationwide.

CASA of the High Plains recruits and trains community members to be court-appointed special advocates (CASAs) who advocate for abused and neglected children in the courtroom.
