The Mall in Hays, 2918 Vine St., will host a Latch On event at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, to raise breastfeeding awareness.

The Big Latch On supports communities with identifying and growing opportunities to provide ongoing breastfeeding support and promotion.

Participants are asked to be settled with their children by 10:20 a.m. to prepare for the countdown.

From 10:30 a.m. to 10:31 a.m. participants that have a successful latch, or are expressing or pumping, will be counted for the event.

The local event is part of an international campaign that had 23,906 participants last year throughout 31 countries.
