The Ellis County Commission is set to discuss the open administrator position at Monday evening’s meeting.

Previous County Administrator Greg Sund stepped down June 15 and the position has been vacant since.

The commission met on multiple occasions in executive session with Randall Allen with the Kansas Association of Counties to discuss the open position.

In other business, the commission will continue working through the 2016 budget. The budget must be completed and posted for public notice by Aug. 25.

Members of the Courthouse-Preservation Committee are also expected to come before the commission to present them with an update of their effort to preserve the west entrance of the courthouse.
