SALINA — A woman came home Tuesday afternoon to find a stranger sitting on the couch in her living room with his shoes off.
Salina Police Department Capt. Mike Sweeney said Luella Garrett arrived at her home in the 700 block of North Seventh just after 3p.m., when she found 30-year-old Maurice Scott inside.
Scott apparently gained entry to the home through a window.
While inside, Scott is alleged to have emptied a fish tank killing two fish, and emptied two boxes of cereal.
When ask to leave, Scott refused and Garrett called police, who apprehended Scott when he tried to leave.
Scott was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated burglary, theft, damage to property and animal cruelty.
