The Kansas Ag Research and Technology Association and K-State Research and Extension announced a summer workshop is being assembled on sUAV (drone) technology, and will take place in Colby on Monday, Aug. 10. The workshop will include in-field demonstrations along with presentations and guided discussions on the drone technology and best practices for producer applications.

More details about the exact locations will be provided to those who register to attend a few days before the workshop. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and is available to KARTA members at no charge, with a non-member rate of $25 per person. Lunch and refreshments are included.

Workshop schedule:
• In-field demonstrations of sUAV technology and best practices.
• Discussions led by Agribotix, Apis Remote Sensing, K-State Agronomy, K-State Research and Extension, American Implement, and experienced producer users.

“Our organization exists to foster research in precision agriculture, and we do that by hosting an annual winter conference that funds research grants for producers around the state,” said KARTA board member Tyler Rider. “The summer workshops are a great way to put the latest technology into practice and improve on the techniques that were introduced at the winter conference.”
