LENEXA- A Kansas teen died in an accident just after 1p.m. on Tuesday in Johnson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Chevy Malibu driven by Cristal M. Howey, 42, Gardner, was westbound on Kansas 10 just east of Cedar Creek Parkway in the right lane.

The vehicle hit Hunter Cade Robinson, 19, Lawrence, who entered the westbound lanes of the highway for an unknown reason from the north.

Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Frontier Forensics.

A passenger in the Chevy Donnie Ray Brown, Jr., 30, Kansas City, was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

Howey was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
