The USD 489 Board of Education and the Hays National Education Association Negotiation teams will host another negotiating session tonight in the Toepfer Board Room, 323 West 12th St. at 5:30 p.m.

Both negotiating teams have struggled recently to come to a consensus on accumulation and payout of accrued leave and required hours in a work day.

While a final agreement is unlikely to come at Tuesday’s meeting, progress has been made in recent weeks with some points of contention – including the grandfathering in of long term teachers in the amount of sick days that will be paid out – being agreed upon by both teams.
