At approximately 3:20 p.m. Tuesday a traffic accident at 22nd and Canterbury sent one man to the hospital after a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV.

Hays Police and EMS were on the scene directing traffic around the intersection while crews moved the motorcycle out of the area and cleaned fluids leaking from the motorcycle.

The extent of the motorcycle drivers injuries are unknown, but he was transported to Hays Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the SUV was uninjured.

At this time the cause of the accident is still under investigation by the HPD.

Traffic is expected to return to normal in the area soon.
