The TMP-Marian girls golf team shot a school record 180, breaking their old mark for a nine-hole tournament by seven strokes, to win the Clay Center Invitational Thursday. The previous record for a nine-hole tourney was 187 set by the 2000 team twice at WaKeeney and Lake Barton.
Individually, Karee Dinkel won her fourth straight title shooting a school record 39, eclipsing the previous record of 42 by Lindsey Wertenberger in 2000. Taylor Dinkel finished third with a 45, Annaka Applequist fifth with a 47, Hannah Michaud seventh with a 49. Alison Helget also shot a 49 and finished ninth.
The Monarchs host their own invitational Monday at the Smoky Hill Country Club starting at 1 p.m.
