Linda Sue Pelzel

3336537Linda Sue Pelzel, age 67, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Mercy Hospital, in Rogers, Arkansas.

Ms. Pelzel, daughter of Ezra and Edlee (Valentine) Tittle, was born in Hobart, Oklahoma, on January 2, 1948.

Linda graduated from high school in Liberal, Kansas, and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Major in Sociology and Political Science at Fort Hays State University, in Hays, Kansas. She was employed by the State of Kansas as a social worker for over 30 years. Linda was extremely active in the community, volunteering at the Hays Public Library, Hays Community Assistance Center, Barry County Council on Aging, and various other organizations.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hays. In 2010 she relocated to Cassville to be near her sisters and began volunteering for Barry County Council on Aging. Volunteering was a way of life for Linda and she was always thinking of others. Linda loved to read and enjoyed baking.

Survivors include two sons, Len and his wife, Trish Gregg-Pelzel of Olathe, Kansas, Lance and his significant other, Laikynne Smoot, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; one daughter, LeAnne Bennett and her husband James, of Flint, Michigan; two sisters, Marie Reid of Cassville, and Sondra Carson, of Mulberry, Arkansas; and one grandson, Troy Pelzel, of Slidell, Lousianna.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Williams and Gwen Meier.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the White Funeral Home & Crematory, with words of comfort spoken by Laikynne Smoot.

Memorials in honor of Linda may be made to the Haven of the Ozarks, and entrusted to the White Funeral Home & Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home & Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
