The Hays High girls’ golf team finished third at the Great Bend Invitational at the Stoneridge County Club Tuesday. The Indians shot a 197 in the nine-hole event and finish 11 shots behind first place Garden City and one back of second place Great Bend.
Taylor DeBoer fired a 5-over par 42 to finish second. Katie Brungardt was sixth with a 47 and Emily McGuire 10th with a 49.
The Indians finish second in the overall Western Athletic Conference standings behind Garden City. DeBoer is the WAC Player of the Year and is joined on the all-conference team by Katie Brungardt.
