The Hays High girls golf team will get a chance to defend their 4A state title from a year ago on their home course after qualifying for this year’s tournament with a second place finish at the Goodland Regional Monday at the Sugar Hill Golf Course.
The Indians shot a 406, 26 strokes behind first place Goodland and nine ahead of third place Holcomb.
Hays was once again led by Taylor DeBoer and Katie Brungardt. DeBoer won the individual title with a 12-over par 83. Brungardt shot an 87 and finished third.
The 4A state tournament will be held Monday, October 19th at 9 a.m. at the Smoky Hill Country Club.
