The TMP-Marian volleyball team went 1-1 to start pool play at the Mid-Continent League tournament Thursday in Stockton.

The Monarchs defeated Oakley 25-14, 25-17 then lost to Smith Center 22-25, 15-25 and are now 29-4 on the year.

TMP-Marian will play Plainville and Hill City when pool play resumes Saturday in their efforts to advance to bracket play later in the day.
