WHITEWATER –A Kansas woman died from injuries in a head-on crash just before 12:30p.m. on Wednesday in Harvey County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Mazda Six driven by Marilyn B. Hein, 69, Wichita, was eastbound on Kansas 196 six miles west of Whitewater.

The vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a 1995 Ford F250 driven by Gary D. Eck, 59, Newton, head-on.

Hein and Eck were transported to St. Francis Medical Center. Hein died of her injuries.

They were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
