BUNKER HILL – Two Russell County residents were injured in an accident just before 5:30 p.m. on Thursday in Russell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Ford F250 driven by Sarah A. Hearld, 37, Russell, was eastbound on Homer Road two miles east of Bunker Hill.

Due to speed the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The pickup entered the north ditch and rolled several times.
Hearld and a passenger Don R. Bushell, Jr., 32, Dorrance, were transported to Russell Regional Hospital.

Hearld was later transported to Wesley Hospital in Wichita.

They were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
