HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State shot 62-percent from the floor including 9-of-16 from 3-point range as they move to 4-0 with a 92-76 win over Newman University Tuesday at Gross Coliseum. The Tigers led most of the way, racing out to an early 12-point first half lead. The Jets answered with a 22-8 run to go up two with 8:18 to play, but the Tigers closed the first half on a 19-2 run to lead 55-39 at the break.

Newman scored the first six points of the second half only to see the Tigers answer with a 9-0 run to build the lead 19.
Dom Samac led three Tigers in double-figures with 20 points, 16 of them in the first half. Rob Davis added 15 and Kenny Enoch 14. Craig Nicholson scored six while dishing out eight assists. Kyler Kinnamon scored eight and had six assists.
The Tigers outscored the Jets 44-24 in the paint and 27-18 off of turnovers.
James Pegues scored 21 to lead Newman who falls to 3-1.
