The graphic designers of the Fort Hays State University Memorial Union showcased their skills at the Region II conference of the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) recently at the University of Kansas.
The theme of the conference was “What U Do Matters,” which explored the value of student unions and their impact on enrollment and retention.
Three student graphic designers with the Center for Student Involvement competed against other designers from Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Mexico.
Colin Baker, Tescott senior; Kara Paramore, Canton senior; and Clay Peppiatt, Salina junior, entered designs they had made for the Center for Student Involvement into the competition.
Baker was recognized for two first-place wins and one third place: first place in calenders or schedules for the 2014 Fall UAB events calendar; first place in item of clothing for the CSI staff T-shirt and third place in logo or brand for the Park Street Grill design.
Paramore took second place in logo or brand for 2015 FHSU Homecoming.
Peppiatt took third place in promotional campaign for Kathleen Sebelius’s Sebelius Lecture Series.
