RUSSELL COUNTY- Two people were injured in an accident just before 9a.m. on Friday in Russell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Dodge pickup driven by Luis Vaquera-Pimentel, 40, Santa Fe, NM., was eastbound on Interstate 70 eight miles west of Russell.

The driver lost control on the ice and the pickup rolled into the south ditch.

Vaquera-Pimentel and a passenger Silvia Vaquera-Pimentel, 42, Santa Fe, NM., were transported to the hospital in Russell.

Two others in the vehicle were not injured. All were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
