Santa Claus is coming to town, and his first stop is the Hays Public Library. The annual “Breakfast with Santa” event will take place at the Hays Public Library on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 9:30 a.m.

Breakfast with Santa is free and open to the public, but requires a ticket to attend.

“Everyone who attends must have a ticket. The only exception is if you have an infant who will sit in your lap and who will not be eating the breakfast” said Cathleen Kroeger, children’s librarian at Hays Public Library.

Tickets will be available in the children’s department beginning Saturday, Nov. 28.

Children who attend the breakfast will receive a free copy of the latest Chilly book. “Chilly the Penguin Treetop Tradition.” After breakfast, Santa will be available for visiting and pictures in the children’s department until noon. The library will not provide a photographer so parents who wish to take pictures must bring their own cameras.
