It wasn’t much, just 0.02, but that was enough to go into the record books as the first measurable snowfall in Hays for the 2015/2016 winter season.

According to Joe Becker at the K-State Ag Research Center, the snow fell Sunday. The official precipitation yield was 0.04, which includes all forms of precipitation.

Sunday’s high in Hays was 29 degrees with the overnight low at 26 degrees. One year ago on Nov. 29, the high temperature was considerably warmer–78 degrees.
