Black Friday and Cyber Monday may have passed, but great deals can still be found this weekend at Big Creek Crossing, 2918 Vine, as several stores are planning big sales in conjunction with Bath and Body Works hosting their biggest sale of the year.

“I have tons of my stores doing promotions on Saturday, so I think the whole mall is going to be busy,” said Katie Dorzweiler, property manager of Big Creek Crossing.

“Christopher and Banks will give away … anywhere up to $100 gift cards they can win for their event,” she said.

JC Penney also will be in the middle of its five-day friends and family event with specials going on throughout the store.

“We have created an event on facebook for these parties, the JC Penney one, if you share the event…we will be doing a drawing on Friday,” Dorzweiler said.

Two $25 gift cards will be given away for that contest.

The biggest draw this weekend, however, will be the sale at Bath and Body Works.

“Bath and Body works will do $8.50 candles, which is insane because candles are normally $22.50,” Dorzweiler said. “People go crazy for candles.”

“This only happens one time a year,” said Bethany Winkel, co-manager of Bath and Body Works. “We have over 60 different fragrances, so we have something for everybody. We have masculine, floral, food scents, outdoor scents, spices, you name it, we even have a pepper candle.”

She expects around a 40 percent increase in traffic in the store that day and will open for business an hour early, at 9 a.m.

To help promote the sale, BCC will be offering a $51 gift card drawing for users who join and share the event on facebook. That amount would allow the winner to get a crate of candles at Bath and Body Works, but can be used in other mall stores.

“For the Hays community, home fragrance is what they come in for,” Dorzweiler said.

Shoppers who cannot make it into the location on Saturday can also shop online, visit any other Bath and Body Works location, or phone orders will also be accepted.
