Brad Boyer has been named the latest Covenant Builders Hometown Hero.

He will be honored at Saturday’s Fort Hays State University basketball games, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Gross Memorial Coliseum.

From his nomination form:

“Brad Boyer is very deserving of the Covenant Builder’s Hometown Hero award because all of the time and effort he puts into making Hays a better place. Brad is one of the 2015 Board of Trustees for the Ellis County Historical Society and has been involved with the Historical Society for many years. He is also a member of the Oktoberfest Committee and helps set-up the children’s activities the morning of Oktoberfest.

“The Tiger Auction & Dinner is a very important event for Tiger Athletics, and Brad has been on the Auction Committee since it started 6 years ago. This takes up a lot of time starting each year in the spring, throughout the summer, and into the fall.

“He is also involved with Tiger Athletics as a Difference Maker, donating at least $5,000 per year to the Athletic Department. This is a very prestigious group and is a huge benefit for Tiger Athletics. Brad also serves on the President’s Advisory Council.

“As you can tell, Brad is heavily involved in the Hays community, and this makes him a Hometown Hero.”
