Hays driver involved in I-70 rear-end crash

ELLSWORTH COUNTY – One person was injured in an accident just before 7:30p.m. on Friday in Ellsworth County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Honda Accord driven by Todd Emanuel Linenberger, 34, Hays, was eastbound on Interstate 70 seven miles north of Ellsworth.

According to the KHP report, the Honda rear-ended a 2000 GMC pickup pulling a trailer and driven by Thomas Terry Carlisle Jr., Harrison, Texas.

The pickup separated from trailer. The trailer came to rest in the median and the pickup on the eastbound shoulder facing west.

Carlisle was transported to the Ellsworth County Medical Center. Linenberger was possibly injured but the Kansas Highway Patrol did not indicate where he was treated.

Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
