Mildred Schmidt, 103, La Crosse, Kansas, died Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.

Mrs. Schmidt was born December 25, 1911, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of Philip and Cora (Rarick) Saxman. She was a long time resident of Rush County, Kansas, moving there from Portland, Indiana. A 1930 graduate of Deerfield High School in Indiana, she was a farm wife before her retirement.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and WELCA, both of La Crosse, Kansas; and Friendly Neighbors.
On June 9, 1943, she married William G. Schmidt. He preceded her in death October 9, 1969.
Survivors include: many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers; and four sisters.

Church visitation will be Monday, December 7, 2015, from 10:00 A.M. to 10:50 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Kansas.

Funeral service will be Monday, December 7, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Kansas, with Pastor Shelly Klingensmith officiating. Interment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery, La Crosse, Kansas.
