Ronnie Wood has more than just a new Rolling Stones tour to look forward to in 2016. The 68-year-old guitarist is set to become a father again: his wife, Sally Humphreys, is due to give birth to twins in June.
A spokesperson for the band issued a statement to NME over the weekend revealing that the Woods “are delighted to announce that they are expecting twins in June 2016. Needless to say, they are thrilled and overjoyed with the wonderful news.”
This will be the first children Wood will have with the 37-year-old Humphreys, a theater-production-company owner whom he married in 2012.
Ronnie has four grown children from previous relationships, including a son named Jesse from his first marriage, to former model Krissy Wood; and a daughter and a son, Leah and Tyrone, with his second wife, Jo. Wood also has an adopted Jo’s son,Jamie, from a previous marriage.
In addition, he has eight grandchildren.
In a 2014 interview with The Telegraph, Sally discussed her and Ronnie’s mutual desire to have children together. “Obviously we’ve spoken about it quite a lot, and you can ask him and his response would be, ‘Well, that would be nice,'” she told the newspaper. “He’s up for it.”
Before his wife is due to give birth, Wood will be hitting the road with The Rolling Stones on their Latin American Olé Tour, which kicks off February 3 in Santiago, Chile, and is scheduled through a March 17 concert in Mexico City.
