The Ellis County Public Works Department announced Tuesday that a construction project to improve drainage on Old U.S. 40 from Yocemento to Ellis will begin on Wednesday.

The project is expected to take two to three months to complete. Motorists should expect reduced speed limits and traffic delays in the construction area until the work is complete. Those traveling this area should allow extra time to arrive at their destination.
