Bruce Springsteen will be performing with The E Street Band this weekend on Saturday Night Live, but two evenings earlier, the Boss will pay a visit to another NBC late-night program, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Springsteen is expected to be interviewed Thursday on the show, which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET/10:35 p.m. CT.
Up-and-coming country star Chris Stapleton is listed as The Tonight Show‘s musical guest that night, but perhaps Bruce will team up withJimmy Fallon for one of those fun parody duets he’s done with the host in the past. Springsteen will also likely chat with Fallon about the new box set, The Ties That Bind: The River Collection.
The package contains four CDs and either three DVDs or two Blu-rays, and includes a remastered edition of Springsteen’s 1980 album, The River; an early 10-song single-disc version of the record; a variety of outtakes; a making-of documentary; a previously unreleased 1980 concert video; and more.
This week’s Saturday Night Live will be the show’s final episode of the year. The program, which will be hosted by SNL alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, airs at 11:30 p.m. ET.
Meanwhile, as previously reported, Springsteen and the E Street Band will head out on a new U.S. trek dubbed The River Tour, which kicks off January 16 in Pittsburgh and runs through a March 17 concert in Los Angeles. Each show will include a full performance of The River, along with other tunes from the Boss’ extensive catalog.
