On Monday, 100 employees of NCK Tech Hays and Beloit campuses will honor Martin Luther King Jr. by giving much-needed assistance to local charities. Activities will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The annual event has assisted many local safety net agencies, nonprofits and churches.
This year, the following organizations will be helped: Salvation Army, ARC of the Central Plains, United Methodist Church, Hays Historical Society, Sternberg Museum and RPM Speedway (bike event preparation).
“Giving is the most personal thing people do publically,” said Nicole Rainey, director of marketing and foundation, “and NCK Tech is giving back to our community. Monday is organized by team captains from NCK Tech who work with local agencies to identify needs in the community. NCK Tech believes we must support those who support us and we are happy to give back.”
“Martin Luther King said, ‘Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?’ We believe a service day is a great way to honor Dr. King’s legacy and for NCK Tech to give back to the community,” said NCK Tech President Eric Burks. “We’re blessed with many talented and caring employees, and this is an opportunity for us to share those gifts with others.”
