Fortify yourself and your family today at the Humane Society of the High Plains Soup’R Bowl before tomorrow’s Winter Storm Watch!

Fifteen or so local celebrity chefs are competing for the coveted “Golden Ladle” award as part of the HSHP’s annual fundraiser.

Attendees will sample and then vote for their favorite homemade soups and can also purchase homemade desserts to top it all off.

The soup’s on from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Ellis County Fairgrounds Schenk Building.

Tickets are $5 and available at the door.

All monies are used for care of animals at the HSHP Virginia Miller Animal Shelter, 2050 E. Highway 40, Hays.
