Girls: TMP 84, Great Bend 72
The TMP Lady Monarchs made 13 three pointers on their way to a 84-72 win over Great Bend Tuesday in Hays. TMP trailed 20-14 after the first quarter and by as many as nine in the second quarter before the hot shooting from deep kicked in. The Lady Monarchs were able to erase the nine point deficit and took a 37-35 lead at the half.
In the third quarter Great Bend battled hard and eventually took a 55-53 lead heading into the fourth quarter. That’s when TMP took over the game for good driving the lead to double figures. The Lady Monarchs sealed the deal from the free throw line hitting 10 out of 10 fourth quarter free throws.
TMP has now won 13 games in a row and improve to 15-2 with the victory. Great Bend drops to 10-7 on the season. The Lady Monarchs host their final regular season home game on Friday against Stockton.

Boys: TMP 65, Great Bend 42
Great Bend scored on their opening possession of the game on Tuesday night in Hays on a three pointer by Jacob Murray. That was the last lead the Panthers held. TMP went on a 7-0 run started off on a three pointer by Ryan Ruder. The Monarchs never looked back from there as they led 21-11 after the first quarter, 33-20 at the half, 49-31 after three quarters and the final score of 65-42.
Jared Vitztum led TMP with 11 points, all coming in the first quarter. TJ Flax chipped in with 10. Great Bend drops to 4-13 on the season. TMP improves to 14-3 and will host Stockton on Friday night.
