SALINA, Kan – The Hays High girls soccer team won their opener at the McPherson Invitational 1-0 over Andover Central Tuesday at Salina Stadium.

The tournament is being played in Salina due to construction at McPherson Stadium.

Courtney Molleker scored the game’s only goal on a corner kick in the 18th minute.  Sydney Sulzman placed a perfect ball that Molleker finished with a header.

Taylor Groen-Younger had three saves and her second shutout of the young season.

The Indians will face Maize South in the semifinals at 6pm Friday.
