ELLIS COUNTY –Two people were injured in an accident just before 9a.m. on Sunday in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Chevy passenger car driven by Lane Templin Lovett, 34, Overland Park, was eastbound on Interstate 70 at Toulon Avenue.

The driver attempted to pass and struck the rear of a semi.

Lovett and a passenger Quinten A Darby, 24, Hays, were transported to Hays Medical Center.

The semi driver from Kansas City was not injured.

All three were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
