
COLBY – Law enforcement authorities in Thomas County are investigating a suspect in connection with a shooting.
Just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to report of a shooting in the 600 Block of South Grant in Colby, according to a media release.
Officers found the victim, Donal Shoemaker, 60, Colby, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Shoemaker was initially treated and then transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Officers arrested Daniel Dryden, 31, and he is currently being held on charges relating to the shooting, according to police.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation.
