Busy week at the Hays Public Library

HPL

School is letting out for the summer, but things are just heating up at the Hays Public Library.

Adult Coloring Class – The adult department will be offering an adult coloring class on Monday, May 16 at 6 PM. Coloring is shown to relieve stress and serve as a creative outlet for adults. Come to the library this Monday for a coloring class designed to help you unwind and let your true colors fly! Materials will be provided for this free class.

End of School Party – The young adult department will be serving up some fun on Tuesday, May 17 at 1 PM in Massey Park. School’s out and it’s time to party! There will be games and snacks for teens.

Read-a-thon – The library is hosting its first ever read-a-thon to kick-off summer reading. The read-a-thon will take place Friday, May 20th from 10 AM to 5 PM in the children’s and young adult departments. The goal is for participants to read 300 hours in one day. There will be special story times and a snack store (one hour of reading = one snack). Parents can help out by reading to their kids. If the goal of 300 hours read is met, HPL staff members will be publicly slimed!
